INDULGING YOUR CHILD CREATES FUTURE DEPENDENCY, HELPLESSNESS AND VICTIMIZATION

INDULGING YOUR CHILD CREATES FUTURE DEPENDENCY, HELPLESSNESS AND VICTIMIZATION

By Domenick J. Maglio Ph.D. Traditional Realist

For children to survive for the first years of life they absolutely need a parent or another adult to assist them. Street children in third world countries are exceptions to this rule. They join with other street kids as early as four years old so they can survive but in ways that would horrify others. Begging and living in sewers should not happen in our modern world although children can survive thinking like adults well before their years.

Modern children are placed in daycare or preschools as early as infants and often by three years old. These children are taught some academic and socialization skills but often need to be trained by caregivers. Often the preschool staff teaches children to listen better to them than to their parents. For the most part working parents feel some guilt for leaving their children with others while they are working or relaxing, but it has become part of our culture.

Modern parents smother their guilt by pampering their children. This translates into ignoring misbehavior and giving the child everything they demand. Usually, the parent’s only power is derived from bribing their children to motivate them to do what the parent wants.

Parents’ indulgence is a poison pill. It may do the job in the short term but reinforces in the child’s mind that parents can be easily manipulated to give them what they want. The child understandably begins to believe the parent will be there for them through adulthood believing parents will always provide for them.

This is obviously impossible. As parents get older they have less energy and greater desire to fulfill their own dreams. Not many years ago, children in the extended family saw their parents caring for grandparents. This tradition has rapidly shrunk with senior citizens living in assisted living facilities and mothers working. Todays’ children are shielded from the reality of the aging process through modern cosmetics and a culture that emphasizes youthfulness.

Modern children are being cheated. Their grandparents and parents will eventually die, and they will be left alone expected to care for themselves. These “middle-aged children” are unprepared adults who will need a crash course in taking on major responsibilities or may feel like failures for not helping take care of significant people in their life.

Today’s children have been provided with their own phones, computers to play games before they can read and whatever else they demand, without having to earn it. They have incredibly high false esteem without having to earn that either. In fact, they have not earned anything but were given everything. These children have everything except an understanding of what is going to happen in their future life.

They are totally dependent on the adults in the family to meet their wishes. They have never learned to work to meet their own needs. Perseverance to gain one’s wants has not been demonstrated or taught. The modern child’s dependency on the parent to buy them happiness has prevented them from becoming independent problem solvers and doers. They are victims of short-sighted parents.

The future of these children is bleak. They are not trained to be doers only takers.  Without adults giving them challenging jobs or projects that they need to do to earn what they want, there is no chance of them finding success in a complicated, modern society. Their inability to comprehend what it takes to be grown up is criminal.

Modern children are victims of a culture that has rejected reliable, traditional methods of teaching them to be independent. Modern parents are not devising new ways of preparing children to prosper as adults in our economy. Government agencies may attempt to assist these self-centered adults with large tax dollar programs that will encourage more young people to accept the socialistic government as an extension of their parents’ overindulgence.

Parents need to say “no” to children’s pleading and demanding by setting appropriate limits. This is primarily the job of caring and realistic parents who want to prepare their children for life without them. Instead, they should teach children how to develop skills in the home: gardening, cooking, cleaning, putting things back in their place, planning, building and especially helping others whenever possible.

These traditional childhood chores should be required of youngsters to assist them to be able to function as adolescents and adults. Keeping offspring as helpless invalids in their later stage of life is unfair to the individual’s future self-worth. Everyone should be given the tools to care for themselves and to give back to others.

PAPER BALLOTS ARE NEEDED TO PRESERVE OUR CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC

PAPER BALLOTS ARE NEEDED TO PRESERVE OUR CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC

By Domenick J. Maglio PhD., Traditional Realist

Here was another federal election where more than a week has passed without candidates knowing if they won or lost. Citizens are told they must wait to know the results. During this uncertain time, we are supposed to wait silently for the “valid” results. However, the more time and more officials that have access to the electronic machines and ballots means more opportunity for falsifying the results. The head of the elections in Arizona is running for governor and chose not to recuse herself from directing the election process that she supposedly won.

We were told by President Biden and his party that there could be no questioning of the election by anyone. We were supposed to ignore obvious questionable practices. However, this election elicits many questions because there is no finality to the election. Remember the old days, not that many years ago when we had results in hours, not days after the polls closed. Florida did it this year. When you voted in a voting precinct with a photo identification and address, with familiar poll watchers the voter felt more confident their vote would be counted.

In many voting districts no photo ID is required, and unsigned and undated mail-in ballots were stuffed into drop boxes to be counted. Other reported issues of electronically changing vote tallies, ballot harvesting or voting under an alias have become common. There is no longer quality control in this voting farce.

Our covid epidemic is over. We need to change back to paper ballots, photo IDs, and a voting system that prevents voter fraud. Paper ballots are the gold standard of voting. In many places this did not happen and has undermined our November 8th, 2022, election.

France uses only paper ballots; people vote in person and ballots are counted by hand. There are no mail-in ballots nor electronic voting machines that can be rigged with the stroke of a key or hacked from another computer from anywhere. France is touted with having one of the most accurate voting systems in the world.

The purpose of voting is to give a voice to citizens in the republic to choose the representatives they want to make the governing decisions for them. After considerable investigation a candidate running for office should have their record and character scrutinized. This process is ultimately important for retaining a Constitutional Republic. All conscientious citizens should not demand that voting be made as easy and simple as voting for your favorite singing contestant on a tv show. Voting for a political representative who decides on our laws is much more consequential for the future of the nation than the supposed convenience of the voter.

Without an accurate tally of eligible voters, the election is not an accurate vote by the citizens. It is a charade of an election that places a group of charlatans who cannot be viewed as legitimate representatives. It is a silent coup where politicians have no allegiance to the people only to the politicians’ self-interest. It eventually evolves to where a person steps forward to be the head of an oligarchy, or even become a dictator.

The difference between an open and fair election and a fraudulent one is like night and day. When elections are held honestly, the citizens should be convinced the politicians will represent the people well. If the ruling class used illegal means to win the election and citizens believe it can be duplicated in another election the citizens will lose any belief in the election system. Dishonest elections make a mockery of any representative government.

The use of photo IDs is a means of documenting that the voter is legitimately the same person they say they are. Not showing a valid ID is a recipe for massive fraud. Yet mostly democratic politicians are in unison that using identification is discrimination against the poor and people of color. This is ridiculous since every adult also must use identification to live in our modern world. We use a photo identification if stopped by the police, to buy alcohol or to enter entertainment venues. Every legal person in the US in order to function has to have a photo ID in business transactions and even to rent a hotel room.

The US must get back to pre-covid epidemic voting to regain the citizens faith in the sanctity of our elections. All citizens, whatever their political preference, should want careful scrutiny of their documentation being a legal citizen before their vote should count.

All Americans should insist every political election is an accurate voice of the people to preserve our constitutional Republic.

AMERICA NEEDS ANOTHER “RELIGIOUS AWAKENING”

 AMERICA NEEDS ANOTHER “RELIGIOUS AWAKENING”

By Domenick J. Maglio PhD. Traditional Realist

Evil has always existed in humankind. Currently immoral behavior has no shame, it’s done in the open and promoted by many in powerful political media, corporations, entertainment and even some religious influencers. Innocent people: children, the elderly, women, and men are killed joyfully and viciously with no reason or remorse by common criminals.

Kidnapping and forcing children to enter sex slavery has become big business. Addiction to powerful drugs has made it easy to commit immoral acts but is suicide to the individual conscience and often life.  Overruling God’s decisions of a person being a particular gender is desecrating by reassignment surgery.  University’s medical facilities have perverted perfect creatures of God for a huge fee. This unconscionable and barbaric practice of promoting self-mutilation of easily persuaded youngsters, indicates the depth of our immorality and depravity.

Public schools are indoctrinating our children with practices of sexual deviance. Explicit sex acts are demonstrated in the classroom without parental approval. Drag queens are allowed to demonstrate specific methods of anal and oral sex. Pornographic books and videos are encouraged in the libraries to affect even preschoolers. These immoral acts are prohibited and labeled as evil behaviors for adults. No rational thinking adult would make this available for the early childhood stage of development.

Seventy years of permissive materialism has preached against punishing children. Serious destructive behaviors are condoned such as hitting other children and even parents. Currently the same tolerance for criminal abusive behavior is going unpunished. Jail time or any other punishment does not occur; they are allowed to return to the streets to do other violent acts with no legal consequences.

Topping this moral decay is the breakup of the nuclear family. Many parents are too busy working and socializing with peers to be strong role models for their children. Few parents teach moral lessons because they are too busy with their own social life.

Along with the lack of teaching moral lessons by permissive parents, the clergy often fits into the immoral and godless society. Many denominations have become social clubs for adults and children. Often adolescents are leaders of the children’s groups. Many of these church groups have become social justice activists to help the homeless, the mentally ill, and the illegal immigrants. Less emphasis is put on the actual souls of church members learning what is evil and how to conquer it in life. The focus on the social condition of others and turning away from the teaching of sin and evil has allowed evil to flourish.

It is clear we need to clean house of rationalizing immoral behavior and teach morals to our loved ones, especially our children. In other words, we need another “Great Religious Awakening”.

In 1720 and again in 1740 religious revivals occurred in the British colonies in America. At this time in history, the Age of Reason, also known as the Scientific Enlightenment, took place. Many educated colonists, including pastors, moved from biblical teachings to Scientific Reason. The Great Awakening changed from pastor’s influence on people to direct personal relationships with God. This helped people to look into their own souls and self-evaluate their actions to follow God’s teachings.  The responsibility is on the individual to follow biblical teaching not for clergy to be apologists for immorality.

The conflict between the scientific world of experts and the teaching of the Bible probably reached the point where the “woke agenda” of anti-biblical teaching is no longer just tolerating but promoting evil in the United States. This conflict is between a nation founded on biblical principles and communist, godless ideas attempting to annihilate the difference between good and evil. Should evil prevail, it will end all our constitutional rights, freedoms, and belief in God.

We see too many heads of churches involved with benefits from federal government relief efforts as NGOs instead of teaching about biblical historical facts. When society has sanctioned evil by example or distorts historical events, the result can be civilization heading towards hell on earth.

Returning the citizens back to a personal direct relationship with God will change the direction of our nation. We already have seen with our own eyes that most politicians lie without blinking an eye. Many professionals such as doctors, lawyers, teachers, corporate heads and others are taught to distort or outright lie about how the negative results their actions may affect their clients.

The USA has lost its Godly direction of following moral values and has turned to evil ways. We need a revival to follow biblical principles. Our country can be a great moral bastion for the rest of the world if we live right every waking hour.

CONQUERING ADVERSITY BUILDS STRENGTH OF CHARACTER

CONQUERING ADVERSITY BUILDS STRENGTH OF CHARACTER

By Domenick J. Maglio PhD. Traditional Realist

The parenting techniques of the United States have become coddling ones. Parents have been advised not to traumatize their child by highlighting negative behaviors of any kind. Instead everyone is supposed to get a trophy and high grades in school even if they did not earn them. The theory is any criticism, reprimanding, or especially physical punishment might result in the child withdrawing or acting out in frustration. The idea is that youngsters need to be protected from any challenge that would shatter their self-confidence and have them believing they are losers.

Permissive experts say children should be protected from absorbing too much pain or negativity. When the child has a demanding task the authority figure should be sufficiently gentle to redirect them to less taxing and less complicated tasks. Adults need to realize children are fragile and would be scarred for life from unforeseen tragedy.

Life is almost never like a Hollywood movie where people live a glorious, uneventful life without any obstacles. In various generations, entire populations had to face life and death events. The British in WWII were relentlessly bombed by the Nazi air force. Many of them remained in London’s underground to survive constant bombing.  WWII left many citizens overcoming traumatic incidents that demonstrated to many of them that they could overcome tremendous hardships.  It taught them they were stronger than they thought possible. They became more resilient to the hardships in life.

Throughout the Great Depression citizens learned they could survive in an almost nonexistent economy. Most people had to change their diet with some eating previously shunned foods like Spam, which became an important protein source in the depression diet. After the depression some of them even preferred Spam over other more expensive meats since it brought back memories of satisfying their hunger. Strong people can adapt to life’s hardships and tragedies while becoming stronger to face the next curve ball life throws them. People may become critically ill with an injury, failure of an organ, or succumb to a crippling disease. No one can predict these physical occurrences although many have faced them. A successful life is not obtained by the faint of heart but by the strong.

The people who lived through these difficult historical periods often were not complainers like many Americans are today. When the depression, WWII, or any serious personal issues occurred during these difficult times it showed the ability to dig deep into inner strengths to survive and prosper. Not only did they overcome the difficult conditions but were motivated to focus on strength and determination to prevent feelings of being defeated by other difficult problems.

In the social arena, divorce, alcoholism, drug addiction and other personal tragedies have become dishearteningly common to many families.  The death of a loved one is not easy to overcome for the people who loved them.  To lose a love one is inevitable if we live to an average life span. A healthy person will absorb the psychological or physical pain that confronts them.

Overcoming personal shortcomings such as being physically small or not doing well in reading, writing or math teaches resilience. A person realizes when they focus on solving their perceived shortcomings; they can devise a strategy to overcome them. A weak or overweight person can develop a program to gain strength through weightlifting or an exercise program to burn calories.  This can change their strength and appearance. Winners in life do not give up but push themselves through difficulties to reach a greater level of personal satisfaction.

Adversity builds personal fortitude to conquer and defeat any other obstacles that life throws at usUnless you are put in a glass “skinner box” that controls every variable and event you will face in life you will face challenges. You cannot determine the events of your future. The coddling of young people does not free them to function in the real world but cripples them.

Our life is a path beyond our control. We can only control our reactions and decisions. Facing life head on teaches us lessons that will assist us in the next difficult situation. We will become wiser in our decision making and stronger in our character. Being overly protected from life’s ups and downs is a strategy to create a dependent, weak individual.  Confronting all the difficulties of life and learning to deal with them builds a person’s confidence and personal strength.

Coddling our modern children is a major reason our nation is being considered weak by our adversaries. Letting our children compete and earn their rewards by facing and solving their own difficulties will give us the strength of character to become winners again.
